Twisted Oak Brewery – Slippery Slope Porter

Slippery Slope is a dark red-black ale with a roasted malt aroma. The ale is sweet malty ale, with a roasted malt and chocolate notes and light hop bitterness.

This is an excellent porter style ale with a good sweet bitter balance. A good addition to the range from Twisted Oak Brewery based in Wrington, (North) Somerset.

This India Pale Ale is a pale golden colour with a pleasant malty hop resin aroma. It’s taste begins with sweet fruity notes, quickly followed by strong hop bitterness with hints of citrus grapefruit.

Harbour Brewing Company are based in Kirland, near Bodmin in Cornwall. This IPA style ale is presumably brewed with hops from New Zealand/Australia.

Well yes it’s another IPA. This ale has a pale golden colour, with a haze served from the can. The aroma is the typical resinous, citrus, with perhaps a hint of passion fruit. It’s taste begins with a sweetness of tropical fruit leading on to a lighter bitterness.

This ale from Siren Craft Brewing has avoided the heavy grapefruit taste of most IPA/APA brews based on the usual selection of American hops. The result is a more drinkable ale with a good balance of sweetness and bitter notes, with hints of tropical fruit.

This craft brewery is based in Finchampstead, Wokingham in Berkshire and produces a very wide range of beers.

West Coast Pale Ale

This ale has a golden coloured ale, with the now usual expected aromas of resinous hops and citrus grapefruit. The taste is again as expected, grapefruit bitterness but in this case moderated a little by malt sweetness.

This is a typical offering from Brewdog with the usual grapefruit citrus bitterness typical of the use of American hops and the “Craft Brewing Brigade”.

Fyne Ales Farm Brewery – Easy Trail Session IPA

This is a golden ale with a citrus-grapefruit aroma, hop resin notes. I has a grapefruit bitter taste, with background malt sweet notes.

Fyne Ales Farm Brewery is based of course, on a farm in rural Argyll on the west of Scotland. The brewery has been operating since 2001.

Easy Trail Session IPA is brewed with Simcoe, Amarillo, Mosaic and Cascade American hops but is a little bit lighter on the resulting Grapefruit dominance.

This pale ale is a glowing orange-golden colour and has a citrus hop aroma. The taste is a lighter hop citrus bitterness, with background tropical fruit notes and a malt sweetness.

This pale ale comes from Round Corner Brewing based in the home of pork pies – Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. Steeplechase Pale Ale is brewed with English, American and New Zealand hops. It is an ale between the traditional English Pale Ale style and an American Pale Ale, minimizing the citrus bitterness of the latter style.

Pure Pilsner

This Pilsner is a pale gold colour with a malty aroma. It has an initial sweetness that carries through to a pleasant lager style finish. This is an excellent pilsner lager style ale!

Vocation Brewery is craft brewery based in Cragg Vale near Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. Pure Pilsner is brewed with pilsner malt and European hops to achieve the excellent flavour.

AM:PM

This is a darker golden ale with citrus grapefruit aroma it has a grapefruit taste, with a malt sweetness countering any grapefruit bitterness.

This ale is brewed at the Riverside Brewery of Thornbridge Brewing in Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District in Derbyshire.

Front Line Pale

This is a pale golden ale green hop and citrus aroma. It has a light taste of the bitterness of fresh green hops and background malt sweetness.

This pale ale is a summer fresh drink, with a lower alcohol content than some larger ales and has been brewed by Rooster Brewing in Harrogate, Yorkshire in conjunction with Beer Hawk the specialist beer supplier.

Modern Helles

Tempest Brewing – Modern Helles

This is a pale golden ale with a light sharp fruit aroma. It has a light malt taste base with hop notes of light fresh bitterness. This lager ale would be a good summer day drink with its lower alcohol level compared to the more common lager beers.

Tempest Brewing is based in Tweedbank Galashiels on the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders. Modern Helles is based on German lager, brewed with Bavarian hops, malt, wheat and oats. It is cold fermented and is presented, unpasteurised and unfiltered.
