This is a dark red coloured ale with a strong malt and honey aroma. It has a sweet yet sharp taste from the live bottle conditioning.
This is a very dark stout coloured ale with a strong roasted malt aroma, going on to dried fruit notes. The taste is a typical porter ale with bitterness from the roasted dark malts and hops, with hints of liquorice
This ale was traditionally from Newcastle and became known as ‘Newkie Brown’. It is a dark chestnut ale with a fruity prune and toffee aroma. It has a fruity taste with toasted notes.
This Christmas ale is a dark chestnut, ruby coloured ale with a spicy aroma and sweet fruit notes. The taste is malty, with dried fruit and a quick following hop bitterness and aftertaste.
This is a ruby coloured ale with deep malt aromas. This is a good malty porter with smokey and coffee notes from dark roasted malts. A very good example of a porter.
This is a golden ale with a strong peach and aromatic fruit aroma, with resinous notes. The peach notes carry through into the taste, with a strong IPA resinous bitter finish.
Brewed with American and New Zealand hops, the brewery tasting notes say this has mango and passion fruit notes.
ÖL Ljus Lager is a golden coloured ale with those roasted malt aroma notes of the mash tun, which you experience passing a traditional brewery. It has a light sweetness with biscuit and roasted malt notes. The aroma and taste very much reflecting the aromas of the working brewery.
Whilst IKEA may not be ones first choice for real ale and many discount their beers entirely, the light and dark lagers do have some merit and should be tried to decide one’s opinion.
This is an amber ale with a light cloudiness. It has sweet malt and fruit aromas and a has a light effervescence – or sparkling. The beer has a sweet malt taste with a backing sharpness and a bitter follow-on.
This is a pale mild ale that is a golden in colour with light aromas of malt and fruity hops. It has the typically mild taste of this style of ale but with a sharp fruity sweetness and a hop and biscuit after taste.
This is would make a pleasant summer ale.
