This site is dedicated to sampling and reviewing real traditional English ales from around the Westcountry of the UK. Whilst the review comments are personally made by the site author, it is hoped you will be tempted to try new, traditional flavoured ales and find new local breweries, working to produce good drinkable ales.

Most of the ales are based on English/British hops, some American and other New World hops may be used to enhance the English ale aromas and flavours.

The site covers less of the new movement for ‘Craft Beers and IPAs’ produced using New World hop varieties, giving ales with taste notes of grapefruit flavour and other citrus and exotic fruits.
